2. What kinds of personal data we collect
3. What we use personal data for
This section explains the purposes for which we use personal data about our business contacts and their representatives. Further detail about the types of personal data we use for these purposes can be found in section 3 below.
Marketing - We use personal data for marketing purposes. This means the data is used to help provide you with information about goods and services which may be of interest to you.
We will not make contact with you for marketing purposes through any particular channel (such as email, telephone or post) if you have told us that you don't want to hear from us in that way. Please note that if you ask us not to contact you for marketing purposes, you might still hear from us for other reasons – for example, as part of our ordinary relationship management activity.
Relationship Management - We use personal data for relationship management purposes. Relationship management is the ongoing maintenance of our relationship with our customers and their representatives.
This could include activities such as letting you know about product changes, product safety or recall notices, dealing with your enquiries, inviting you to events, or asking how we could further improve the product and services we provide.
Providing Services - Sometimes we need to use your personal data to provide you with information, products or services that you have requested. For example, if you have requested us to provide a quotation, or deliver products.
Monitoring and improving our websites - We use information such as how different people navigate around our websites, how long they spend on pages and whether they download any of our content in order to help improve the user experience of our websites.
Operating our business
We use personal data as part of our own internal operations. For example:
We hold information about our members of staff, and we use that information to manage our relationship with them. The information includes details such as employment and educational history, background checks and performance appraisals. Members of staff can find more information by contacting Human Resources.
We use CCTV cameras throughout the public areas of our business premises to help ensure the safety of our staff and visitors and the security of our information and assets.
4. What are the legal grounds for handling personal data?
This section explains the basis on which we process your personal data.
Legitimate interests
The UK’s data protection law allows the use of your personal data where necessary for legitimate purposes provided that this isn’t outweighed by the impact it has on you. The law calls this the “legitimate interests” condition for processing personal data. We rely on this condition for most of our processing activities.
The table below lists our legitimate interests and describes how personal data is used to fulfil these.
Other grounds
In some circumstances, we may have other grounds to process personal data. These are set out in the following table, along with examples of the circumstances in which they might apply.
5. Who we share personal data with
We may share your personal data with third parties who help us use it for the purposes described in section 2. For example:
- Our database of personal data may be held by third parties on our behalf.
- We might use a third-party email broadcasting service in order to send you service emails or (if you have agreed to receive them) marketing emails.
- We might use a printing company to produce and send personalised direct mail.
- We might use market research companies to help us better understand our customers.
- When you or your business in which you are a partner or a director makes an application for a credit account with us, we may make searches about you with credit reference agencies and fraud prevention organisations.
These service providers will not be allowed to use your information for their own purposes or on behalf of other organisations, unless you otherwise agree.

We are based in the United Kingdom and will access and use your information from here.
7. For how long is the data retained
